KCC supplied and installed a range of Schuco Jansen Thermally broken steel tilt & turn windows, steel doors and GEZE window actuators. Some elements were outside normal recommended build sizes and a bespoke lazer welded reinforcement profile was introduced to the system to achieve window sizes of 2485mm x 2485mm. Special Acoustic Glass was utilised to achieve a 40dB sound attenuation on some elements. Internally, KCC supplied and installed steel personnel doors with wraparound steel frames in 250mm deep concrete walls together with KCC ironmongery and access control systems.

KCC supplied and installed Schuco Jansen PPC finished steel fire rated internal glazing systems to the atrium on ground and first floor levels. The 3400mm span of 30 minute and 60 minute fire rated glazing was achieved with pane dimensions of the Saint-Gobain glass used on the project, which are the widest double glazed integrity only certified fire rated type commercially available on the market today.

KCC supplied and installed a range of frameless glazed armour plate door and screen assemblies overlooking the void of the internal lightwell over four floors. Bespoke reinforced steel framing was designed and manufactured by KCC, to anchor the system to the floor slab. This special framing was also needed to safely accomodate the heavy 19.5mm toughened laminiated glass required, satisfying all building regulations and health & safety regulations. A special feature on 2 of the screen elevations is the LCD privacy glass utilised, which turns from clear to opaque at the touch of a switch.

KCC was delighted to be part of the prestigious project in UCD, We had the mission to combine extreme Acoustic performance levels with fire resistance for timber doors within steel frame profiles. We were aware of the conflicts when trying to achieve Acoustic performance and fire resistance in one space and we commissioned a specialist acoustic consultant to prepare project assessments for sound reduction to client requirements. KCC also drafted consultations on specialist applications for the door sets from engineers at Chiltern and International Fire Consultants to provide bespoke assessments and guidelines for their door assemblies.  To achieve the best results we use only premium product from partners who can provide tested solutions for our clients. BOS “Best of Steel” Telescopic Grade 316 Stainless and Powder Coated Steel Frames, Solidcore HPL Flush and Multiple Rebate Doors to fire and Acoustic Specifications and High Acoustic Performance Steel Door sets have been installed by the experienced and knowledgeable KCC fitters on the project.
 
With this wide range of experience and support from established partners, KCC were able to achieve a peak of performance not acquired from door assembly types before now thus setting a watermark for innovation in doorset technology.
