Clongowes Wood College SJ

KCC supplied and installed a range of Schuco Jansen Thermally broken steel tilt & turn windows, steel doors and GEZE window actuators. Some elements were outside normal recommended build sizes and a bespoke lazer welded reinforcement profile was introduced to the system to achieve window sizes of 2485mm x 2485mm. Special Acoustic Glass was utilised to achieve a 40dB sound attenuation on some elements. Internally, KCC supplied and installed steel personnel doors with wraparound steel frames in 250mm deep concrete walls together with KCC ironmongery and access control systems.
UCD NIBRT (University College Dublin National Institute for Bioprocessing Research & Training)

KCC supplied and installed Schuco Jansen PPC finished steel fire rated internal glazing systems to the atrium on ground and first floor levels. The 3400mm span of 30 minute and 60 minute fire rated glazing was achieved with pane dimensions of the Saint-Gobain glass used on the project, which are the widest double glazed integrity only certified fire rated type commercially available on the market today.
Trinity Long Room Hub, Trinity College Dublin

KCC supplied and installed a range of frameless glazed armour plate door and screen assemblies overlooking the void of the internal lightwell over four floors. Bespoke reinforced steel framing was designed and manufactured by KCC, to anchor the system to the floor slab. This special framing was also needed to safely accomodate the heavy 19.5mm toughened laminiated glass required, satisfying all building regulations and health & safety regulations. A special feature on 2 of the screen elevations is the LCD privacy glass utilised, which turns from clear to opaque at the touch of a switch.
