Fire Door Safety Week 2019

20th September 2019

We’re pledging our support by hosting the 2019 Fire Door Symposium, an informative & educational event for industry professionals.

A fire Door is more than just a door – it is an engineered safety device, designed to save lives and is a crucial part of the passive fire protection of every commercial, public and multiple occupancy building.

In everyday use the simple purpose of a fire door is just as any other door. However, in the event of a fire emergency, a fire door must perform to its prime purpose – to delay the spread of fire and smoke; protecting lives and property and buying building occupants valuable time and creating a safely guarded route to escape.

Fire Door Safety Week was launched in 2013 in response to a legacy of fire door neglect. It is a ‘mass market’ awareness campaign to increase public understanding of the role that fire doors play in protecting life and property.

We are proud to be supporting Fire Door Safety week (September 23rd to 29th 2019) by facilitating a free and educational symposium with keynote speakers from industry experts such as the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA), the Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) and ABLOY UK and KCC’s own Fire Doors Inspections. The theme of the symposium is Fire Door Safety and it looks set to be a highly informative and interesting event for industry professionals.

The 2019 Fire Door Symposium is a free event for building owners, managers, architects, designers, contractors and other industry professionals taking place on September 26th 2019, in the Waterfoot Hotel, Caw Roundabout, Londonderry, with registration beginning at 9.00am. Please contact symposium@firedoorsinspections.com to register your interest.
